How it works

In 6 easy steps

  1. Pack your items

    Simply pack your item(s) in a suitable sized box or postal bag along with your details. Please use tissue or a cotton garment bag for safe transit if possible.

  2. Include your details

    Please download and include our customer contact & consent form. This should have your return address information and any specific instructions.

  3. Post it

    We recommend Royal Mail Recorded Special Delivery, but you are free to use any method or courier of your choice. Address it to our workshop at Hastingwood Trading Estate, Edmonton.

  4. Customer support

    A member of our team will be in touch once your item(s) have arrived safely to confirm costs and discuss further. We will also send our BACS transfer details for payment purposes.

  5. Services underway

    The team at Ace of Suedes will then work their magic! This usually takes around a week to 10 days. We'll keep you updated on progress and let you know as soon as your item is ready.

  6. Return postage

    We organise the return postage upon completion — usually £15 per item*. This covers up to 2kg in weight and insurance up to £750 via Royal Mail Recorded Special Delivery. Let us know if you require a higher level of insurance. *Heavier packages could cost more

Packaging guide

How to pack your item for safe transit.

A few minutes packing well saves a lot of worry on the way. Follow these guidelines and your piece will arrive ready for assessment in the same condition you sent it.

Use a sturdy outer

A double-walled cardboard box or thick padded mailer protects shape and prevents creasing in transit. Avoid soft envelopes or mail bags for structured items like jackets, bags and shoes.

Wrap in tissue or cotton

If possible, please use acid-free tissue or a cotton garment bag for leather, suede and shearling. Skip plastic for long transit — it can trap moisture and cause finish issues.

Stuff and support

Pad bag interiors and shoes to maintain shape.

Include consent form

Download and complete our customer contact & consent form. Include it in the package along with your name, phone number and any specific instructions.

Choose a tracked service

Royal Mail Recorded Special Delivery is recommended. You are free to use any method or courier of your choice — tracked + insured is best for items of value.

Postal questions, answered.

Do I pay anything before I post my item?

You arrange and pay for your own postage to send your item(s) to us — we recommend Royal Mail Recorded Special Delivery. There's nothing to pay us up front for the cleaning itself: we give you a guide price first, then confirm the exact cost only after assessing your item in person. The agreed service cost and return postage (usually £15 per item) are settled by BACS before we dispatch your item back to you.

How much is return postage?

Return postage is usually £15 per item*. This covers up to 2kg in weight and insurance up to £750 via Royal Mail Recorded Special Delivery. Please let us know if you require a higher level of insurance. *Heavier packages could cost more

How do I pay?

We will send our BACS transfer details once costs have been confirmed. Payment is required before we dispatch your item back to you.

How long does the whole process take?

Typical turnaround is 10-14 days from the date your item reaches our workshop. Specialist or heavily soiled pieces may take longer — we'll always confirm an estimated completion date when we confirm pricing.

Is my item insured during transit?

Insurance is provided by the courier you choose to send with — we recommend Royal Mail Recorded Special Delivery. On the return leg, insurance up to £750 is included as standard. Higher levels of insurance are available on request.

Do you charge extra because I'm posting?

No postal markup on the cleaning or restoration service itself. The only additional cost is return postage (usually £15 per item) — no admin or handling fees. *Heavier packages could cost more

Do I need to include the consent form?

Yes. Please download our customer contact & consent form, complete it and include it in your package. This ensures we have your return address, contact details and your consent for the treatment of your item(s).

What if my item is too valuable to post?

For very high-value items (designer pieces, heritage garments, anything you'd be devastated to lose), we recommend our free London collection service if you're in the area, or a specialist courier. We can advise on safe transport options for your specific item.

Do you ship internationally?

Our postal service covers the entire UK. We can accept items from outside the UK on a case-by-case basis — please get in touch first so we can advise on customs, import duty and the most secure transit options.
