Please read these terms carefully before using our services. By using any service offered by Ace of Suedes, you agree to be bound by the terms set out below.
Section 1Definitions
- “Company” refers to Ace of Suedes, the provider of specialist leather, suede and fur cleaning services.
- “Client” refers to any person or entity using our services.
- “Website” refers to https://aceofsuedes.co.uk
Section 2Services
Ace of Suedes provides specialist cleaning, repair and alteration services for leather, suede, fur and other delicate garments. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.
Section 3Payments
All services must be paid for in full before the return of the items, unless agreed otherwise in writing. Payment methods accepted include cash on delivery, debit/credit cards and bank transfers. For postal services, full payment is required before dispatch.
Section 4Collection and Delivery
Ace of Suedes offers collection and delivery services within London. Clients are responsible for the correct packaging and labelling of items for postal services. The company also offers collection through Royal Mail for clients outside London, with additional charges applied.
Section 5Item Care
The company adheres to British Standard BS 7269-1:1991 for the treatment of leather, suede and fur garments. All items are carefully inspected upon arrival, and HD photographs are taken. Delicate components such as zips and buttons are protected — or removed and reattached as necessary.
Any identified risks will be communicated to the client before proceeding. In cases where additional care is required or risks of damage are high, Ace of Suedes may request the client's consent to continue the treatment process.
Ace of Suedes will always exercise the utmost care in the treatment of all items entrusted to us, and will use processes deemed best suited to the nature of the items collected when clear cleaning instructions are unavailable. However, items without cleaning instructions are treated at the owner's risk.
If an estimate has already been provided, it may be subject to change upon inspection of the item(s) by specialists. This typically depends upon the necessary treatment and/or processes required.
Section 6Customer Consent
Before placing an order, clients are required to download, review and complete the Customer Contact & Consent Form, which must be sent along with the items. By submitting your order, you confirm that you have downloaded, reviewed and agreed to the contents of the consent form. No items will be processed without this acknowledgement.
Section 7Liability
If proved to be at fault by an independent testing authority, collected items are only insured against loss, theft or damage up to a maximum value of 5× the treatment cost charged for the item(s) in question — or, if agreed, the current market value less any depreciation and/or treatment costs incurred. Our acceptance of liability will only be agreed in writing by Ace of Suedes, and the amount payable is at company discretion.
Ace of Suedes takes great care in handling items. However, the company is not responsible for:
- Damage to items caused by general wear and tear, manufacturer's defects, or pre-existing conditions.
- Variations in texture, colour or shrinkage during the cleaning process.
- Damage or loss to property and/or accessories such as, but not limited to: items found in pockets, badges, broaches, beads, sequins, buttons, buckles, belts, zips, hooks, loops, beams etc.
Section 8Garment Storage
Items left unclaimed for more than 90 days after completion of service will be considered abandoned. Ace of Suedes reserves the right to dispose of uncollected items after this period. Storage charges of £5 per item per week may be charged for unpaid or undelivered items that remain in our possession for over 30 days.
Section 9Complaints
The company strives to provide the highest quality service. Any complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days of receipt of items. Ace of Suedes will review all complaints and take appropriate action where necessary. If customers are unhappy with the results of our treatment, the company must be given an opportunity to re-inspect the item(s) and to try to resolve the issue before any other decision can be made.
Section 10Use of Website
By accessing the website, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The content of this website — including text, images and data — is the intellectual property of Ace of Suedes and may not be reproduced without consent.
Section 11General Terms & Conditions of Our Services
Ace of Suedes is a specialist cleaning, repair and restoration company, and therefore any items collected for treatment are deemed already devalued and/or damaged. The company cannot accept liability for:
- Items that have been treated following a completed “further consent request form”.
- Items that have been treated following a verbal “go ahead” or “consent”.
- Any damage not related to or caused by our treatment and/or services.
- Any damage associated with adhesives used by manufacturers.
- Any damage and/or change of texture which may occur following cleaning/treatment of protein-based stains.
- Loss of value of an item following our treatment and/or services.
- Failed stain treatment and/or repairs due to inherent problems within the structure of materials/skins.
- Failed stain treatment of protein-based stains, water- and/or sunlight-damaged items.
- Any costs associated with delays caused by unforeseen circumstances or issues with treatment.
- Colour uniformity following our treatment — our specialists intend to match original colours, materials and accessories as best as possible.
- Loss of shape, size or texture following our treatment and/or services.
- Damage or loss to property and/or accessories such as, but not limited to: items found in pockets, badges, broaches, beads, sequins, buttons, buckles, belts, zips, hooks, loops, beams etc.
- Shrinkage, unless deemed excessive (excessive shrinkage is regarded as over 3%).
- Any damage to an item resulting from the use or application of a product while in your care.
In addition to the effects of normal wear, some items may have weak or thin areas that can chafe during cleaning.
Prior exposure to heat and/or moisture can cause some leathers, suedes, furs or materials to become tender, stiff or brittle during or after treatment. This may also cause some types of leathers, suedes, furs or materials to shrink and/or lose shape or texture during or after treatment.
Stain Treatment
Although we have decades of experience and some of the most unique and specialist cleaning methods available, we are unable to guarantee removal of all stains, faults or defects that may, in some cases, be unnoticeable prior to treatment. Unfortunately some types of stains may not be removable; stains already present may at times become more obvious following treatment, or cause damage/change to textures and/or colours.
The company is not always able to disguise or improve the appearance of natural flaws, or avoid issues relating to certain adhesives used by manufacturers. Leathers and suedes often become worn and discoloured with age, and this can often be mistaken for staining. Please note that sometimes this may not be apparent until after treatment.
Items that may require advanced treatment may be subject to additional charges. In some cases, and with some tougher stains, the company may attempt to conceal the damage by using dyes/colours to the closest possible match, or to your customer's preference — further charges may apply.
All specialist items are therefore only undertaken for treatment on a best-results basis.
Section 12Changes to Terms
